Pass plus is an optional practical training course offered by the DVSA which is aimed at new drivers who have recently passed the standard driving test. Although it is also beneficial for other drivers.
Pass plus helps drivers to become more confident to drive on their own and to increase their own experience on the road. The training helps to deliver valuable knowledge of situations that are not covered by the standard test such as motorway driving.
You also learn advanced skills and techniques that will help to improve your anticipation and alertness and this in effect helps you to learn how to reduce accidents.
Pass plus Pass Plus training takes at least 6 hours. It has 6 modules, covering driving:
- in town
- in all weathers
- on rural roads
- at night
- on dual carriageways
- on motorways
Another reason to consider taking the pass plus training is that a number of insurers offer discounts on insurance prices if you have the Pass Plus Certification.
The modules of the Pass Plus are delivered as practical sessions this however depends upon local conditions which means some are theory based. Normally you would be spend about 6 hours driving.
Unlike the standard driving test you do not take a practical test but are assessed throughout the course by your instructor. To pass the course you have to reach the required standard in all the modules. This is why only a Pass Plus Registered approved driving instructor (ADI) can teach the Pass Plus Course.
At Aryan driving we are registered to teach the Pass Plus training. We have competitive rates for this training and have helped many drivers achieve the standard required to pass the Pass Plus. You will find that our instructors are just as knowledgeable and professional in teaching these 6 modules as they are competent in delivering the standard knowledge required for the main practical driving test.
